The fatal shooting of a male at 11095 Ella Boulevard about 12:35 a.m. today (Jan. 27) is being referred to a Harris County grand jury.
The identity of the deceased male is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences. The male shooter was not injured. HPD Homicide Division Detectives K. Clark, M. Nicotra, B. Stephens and M. Castillo reported: Officers were dispatched to a shooting call in the parking lot of a gas station at the above address and found an unresponsive male on the ground. He had suffered a gunshot wound. Paramedics transported the male to HCA Houston Healthcare Northwest where he was pronounced deceased. Witnesses told detectives the male had robbed multiple people while they were pumping gas. At some point, another male who witnessed a robbery shot at the male robbery suspect, striking him. The shooter fled the scene, but he later contacted and met with detectives at the HPD Edward A. Thomas building (HPD Headquarters). After he provided a statement, the male was released after detectives contacted the Harris County District Attorney’s Office, which determined the shooting investigation would be presented to a grand jury.
