Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man at 10630 Beechnut Street about 8:55 p.m. on Sunday (April 28).
The identity of the victim, 40, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Homicide Division Detectives A. Finley and E. Camacho reported:
HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting at an apartment complex at the above address and met with Houston Fire Department paramedics, who found the victim unresponsive and with several gunshot wounds. Paramedics pronounced the victim deceased.
A witness reported seeing the victim get into a verbal altercation with an unknown suspect. The suspect retrieved a firearm and shot the victim multiple times during a struggle. The suspect then fled the scene in an unknown direction.
At this time, there is no known suspect description.
