Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man and wounding of another that occurred at 10630 Beechnut Street about 8:05 p.m. on Thursday (July 14).
The identity of the deceased victim, 21, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
The wounded victim, 19, suffered non-life threatening injuries.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeant B. Smith and Detective M. Estep reported:
HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting call at the above address and were advised an unidentified suspect approached the victims and shot at them. Paramedics pronounced the 21-year-old male deceased at the scene and transported the 19-year-old male to an area hospital.
The suspect is described only as a black male between 19 and 21 years old with short hair.
At this time, there is no known motive.
