Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man at 10070 Westpark Drive about 9 a.m. on Sunday (Jan. 3).
The identity of the male is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Homicide Division Detectives K. Fregia and D. Higgs reported:
The male tenant of an apartment at the above address told investigators he was home with two females he had met earlier at an after-hours club at 10400 Harwin Drive. The tenant stated he heard his front door open and heard someone entering. He said he saw a black male with a pistol in his hand look around the corner of his bedroom. The occupant then grabbed a gun he had on his night stand and fired shots at the unknown male, striking him several times. The male was pronounced deceased.
The tenant provided investigators information on the two females and said they were seen in a silver Dodge Journey with dark tinted windows. One of the females spoke Spanish. Investigators would like to speak with the two unknown females as witnesses and urge them to come forward to provide statements in the case.
There are no charges filed in the case at this time.
