| Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man that occurred at 1000 Wheeler at 11 p.m. on Saturday (August 5).
The identity of the victim is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeant J. Rhodes and Officer D. Nabors reported:
HPD patrol officers responded to a call of a person down at the above address and found the victim lying in the street with multiple gunshot wounds. He was transported by HFD paramedics to Ben Taub General Hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
The suspect is described only as a heavy-set black male, 20 to 25 years of age, armed with a pistol.
