Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 9600 Richmond Avenue about 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday (July 4).
The identity of the male victim, 21, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant P. Lee and Officer M. Burton reported:
The victim was driving a gray Nissan Maxima at a high rate of speed eastbound on Richmond when he failed to stay in a single lane and left the roadway. The vehicle struck a light pole and several trees and then rolled across yards of several residences. The driver was ejected from the vehicle. Both he and his male passenger, 21, were transported to Memorial Hermann Southwest Hospital where the driver was pronounced deceased.
The investigation is continuing.
