| Houston police have learned a man critically injured in a crash at 9600 Beechnut Street about 7:05 p.m. on March 3 has died.
The identity of the deceased male, 66, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant L. Le and Officer D. Ortega reported:
The male crossed the street – not in a crosswalk – near the above address and was struck by a silver Nissan Sentra traveling eastbound on Beechnut. Houston Fire Department paramedics transported the male pedestrian to Memorial Hermann-Texas Medical Center in critical condition.
The male driver, 66, of the Nissan was determined not to be impaired. He remained at the scene and was questioned and released.
Doctors pronounced the male pedestrian deceased on Tuesday (March 19).
No charges have been filed at this time, as the investigation is continuing.
