Houston police are investigating a fatal hit-and-run crash at 9500 West Loop South (West Interstate Highway 610 South) about 3:10 a.m. today (Sept. 24).
The identity of the female victim, 27, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant D. Griffiths and Officer D. Hoang reported:
The victim was driving southbound on the freeway at the above address when her vehicle became disabled. The woman pulled over on the right side of the South Post Oak Road exit ramp and called a family member to report she had a flat tire. The victim was outside her vehicle when she was struck by an unknown vehicle whose driver fled the scene without stopping to render aid. Paramedics pronounced the victim deceased.
Evidence at the scene indicates the wanted vehicle is a Toyota, possibly a Corolla or Camry model.
