| Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 9500 Southwest Freeway (South U.S. Highway 59) service road about 3 a.m. on Sunday (July 11).
The identity of the deceased male, 29, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
According to witnesses, the victim was driving a white Chevrolet Impala southbound on the service road at the above address and ran the red light at the intersection of Bissonnet Street. The Impala then struck a black Infiniti SUV traveling eastbound on Bissonnet.
The driver of the Impala was pronounced deceased at the scene. A male passenger, 29, in the Impala and the female driver, 37, of the Infinity were transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries
The investigation is continuing.
