| Houston police are investigating a fatal auto-pedestrian crash at 9301 West Bellfort Avenue about 1:55 p.m. on Wednesday (January 25).
The identity of the male victim, 71, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant P. Lee and Officer A. Mares reported:
A private school bus was backing up eastbound after unloading a group of students in the east end of the parking lot of a community center at the above address. A private security officer crossed the parking lot, with his back toward the bus and was struck. The security officer was pronounced deceased at the scene by Houston Fire Department paramedics.
The female bus driver, 45, who remained at the scene, was determined not to be impaired and was questioned and released, pending further investigation.
No charges have been filed at this time, as the investigation is continuing.
