| Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 9300 Veterans Memorial Drive about 2 p.m. last Friday (December 28).
The identity of the deceased male victim, 38, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant F. Briones and Officer A. Mares reported:
The victim was driving a maroon Volkswagen Passat northbound on Veterans Memorial Drive when he failed to control his speed and struck the rear of a gray Infiniti QX60. The impact pushed the Infiniti into the rear of a white Chrysler 300. The driver of the Passat was transported by HFD paramedics to an area hospital where he was pronounced deceased. The drivers of the other two vehicles were not injured.
It is believed the victim suffered a medical episode just prior to the crash. The investigation is continuing.
