Houston police are investigating a fatal crash that occurred at 9200 Laura Koppe Road about 9 p.m. on Thursday (Jan. 21).
The identity of the male victim, 52, is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant P. Pham and Officer D. Hoang reported:
The victim, a pedestrian, walked into the roadway at the above address and laid down in the moving lanes of traffic. The driver of a white Toyota Camry was traveling eastbound and did not see the victim lying in the roadway. The driver attempted to swerve, but struck the victim. Paramedics pronounced the man deceased at the scene.
The driver of the Camry stopped, showed no signs of intoxication and was questioned and released.
The investigation is continuing.
