Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 9000 Southwest Freeway (South U.S. Highway 59) about 1:45 a.m. today (June 8).
The identity of the deceased female, 32, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences. HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant D. Griffiths and Officer C. Brothers reported: The female was driving a white Lincoln MKZ southbound on the freeway at the above address when she took action that caused the vehicle to leave the roadway and strike a TxDOT exit sign. The impact caused the female and one of her daughters, a 2-year-old passenger, to be ejected from the vehicle. Paramedics arrived and pronounced the driver deceased at the scene. The child passenger and two other juvenile passengers, a 12-year-old girl and a 6-month-old boy, sustained minor injuries and were transported to an area hospital.
