Houston police are investigating the fatal crash that occurred at 9000 Northwest Freeway (U.S. Highway 290) about 2:40 a.m. on Monday (November 25).
The identity of the deceased male, 46, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant E. Fendia and Officer D Fenoglio reported:
The operator of a green Ninja ZX Kawasaki Motorcycle was traveling at a high rate of speed on the Northwest Freeway and attempted to pass a tan Chrysler 300 when the motorcycle collided with the Chrysler. The operator (victim) lost control, laid the motorcycle down while in motion and fell from the motorcycle. A red Nissan Altima then struck the victim as he was lying on the mainlines of the freeway.
The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene by responding Houston Fire Department paramedics.
The drivers of the Chrysler and the Nissan, who remained at the scene, did not show signs of intoxication, and were questioned and released. Neither suffered injuries as a result of the crash.
The investigation is continuing.
