Houston police have learned that a man critically injured in a crash that occurred at 900 West 25th Street about 6:05 a.m. on April 5 has died.
The identity of the victim, 35, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant D. Rodriguez and Officer J. Campbell reported:
The driver of a black Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck was traveling eastbound near the above address. The victim, who had a dog, was on the south side of the street and both were struck by the Silverado. Houston Fire Department paramedics transported the victim to Ben Taub General Hospital in critical condition. The dog was deceased at the scene. Doctors pronounced the victim deceased last Friday (April 15) due to injuries sustained form the crash.
At that time, the driver of the truck, who remained at the scene, was determined not to be impaired and was questioned and released.
No charges have been filed at this time, as the investigation is continuing.
