A man critically injured in a hit-and-run crash at 8800 Richmond Avenue about 6:10 a.m. on November 1 has died.
The victim, 66, was pronounced deceased at Memorial Hermann Southwest Hospital on Monday (Nov. 11). His identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant L. Ross and Officer D. Ashford reported:
The victim was driving a black Toyota Prius and turning onto the eastbound lanes at the above address when his vehicle was rear-ended by a gray Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck. The truck then spun and struck a light pole near Crossview Drive. The unknown male driver of the truck fled the scene on foot without stopping to render aid. Paramedics transported the victim to the hospital in critical condition.
Investigators determined the Chevrolet was a stolen vehicle. There is no suspect description at this time.
