Investigation into Fatal Crash at 8600 East Freeway

Houston police are investigating a fatal hit-and-run crash at 8600 East Freeway (East Interstate Highway 10) about 10:25 p.m. on Thursday (May 5).

The identity of the male victim is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant P. Pham and Officer J. Trevino reported:

The victim, a pedestrian, was walking in a moving lane of traffic in the eastbound lanes on the freeway at the above address when he was struck by an unknown vehicle on the entrance ramp to U.S. Highway 90.  Paramedics pronounced the victim deceased.  The driver fled the scene without stopping to render aid.
