Houston police are investigating the fatal crash that occurred at 8500 Cowart Street about 8:35 p.m. on Tuesday (June 18).
The deceased female is identified as Reginae Richardson, 3.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant D. Griffiths and Officer J. Johnson reported:
The driver of a white Kia Soul was traveling southbound in the 1400 block of Silverdale Street when she failed to maintain a single lane and struck a wooden utility pole on the northbound side of the sidewalk at Cowart Street. The vehicle then rolled and landed on its passenger side. A child (Reginae) was ejected from the front passenger window. The driver and another female passenger, 8, climbed out of the driver side window.
All three females were transported to an area hospital where Reginae was pronounced deceased. The two other females were treated and released.
Officers did not observe any signs of intoxication on the driver. However, there were no child seats present in the car. No other vehicles were involved in this crash.
No charges have been filed at this time as the investigation is continuing.
