| Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 8000 Harrisburg Boulevard about 1:05 p.m. on Monday (June 6).
The identity of the deceased female, 16, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant P. Lee and Officer D. Vinton reported:
Three teens were in a black BMW 325i traveling at a high rate of speed near the above address when the female (driver) failed to stay in a single lane. The BMW veered to the right of the roadway, drove through the guardrail on a bridge and went into the bayou below.
The back seat male passenger, 17, was able to swim to safety. The front seat female passenger, 17, was rescued by paramedics and transported to an area hospital in stable condition. The HPD Dive Team responded to the scene and recovered the female’s body in the bayou. She was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The investigation is continuing.
