Investigation into Fatal Crash at 800 Eastex Freeway

Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 800 Eastex Freeway (North U.S. Highway 59) about 1:15 a.m. on Saturday (July 9).

The identity of the deceased male, 28, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant R. Dunn and Officer J. Johnson reported:

The male was driving a green Nissan Altima northbound at the above address when the vehicle struck a concrete traffic barrier at the exit ramp to Interstate Highway 10.  Paramedics pronounced the driver deceased at the scene.  There were no other persons inside the vehicle.

The investigation is continuing.
