| Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 7900 Katy Freeway (West Interstate Highway 10) service road about 2 a.m. today (September 5).
The identity of the deceased female, 28, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant D. Griffiths and Officer J. Johnson reported:
The woman was driving a silver Ford Fusion westbound near the above address. It is believed she was in the left turn only lane when she continued straight and struck a pole underneath the westbound lanes of the freeway. Houston Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene and pronounced the woman deceased.
No other vehicles or persons were involved in the crash. The investigation is continuing.
