Houston police are investigating the fatal crash at 7800 Tidwell Road that occurred about 11:15 a.m. on May 5th.
The victim, Jospeh Stelly, 90, was pronounced dead today (May 17).
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division J. Gaona and Northeast Patrol Officer K. Nguyen reported:
Mr. Stelly was driving a gray Ford Taurus westbound when he failed to control his speed and struck the rear bumper of a blue Ford Expedition stopped at a stoplight at the intersection of Tidwell and North Wayside. The Expedition then was pushed into a green Ford Explorer, a blue International 18-wheeler cab and then a black Ford F-150 pickup truck, in that order. Stelly was transported by Houston Fire Department paramedics to Ben Taub General Hospital in critical condition. He was later transferred to hospice, where he was pronounced deceased.
The investigation is continuing.
