Houston police are investigating the fatal crash at 7700 Westheimer Road that occurred about 10:40 p.m. on Sunday (August 1).
The identity of the male victim is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant D. Rose and Officer J. Roberson reported:
A light-colored Kia Sorento was traveling westbound on Stoney Brook Drive when the victim attempted to run across the roadway, not in a crosswalk, and was struck by the Kia. The driver of the Kia fled the scene and remains at large. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
