| Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 7600 Westhiemer Road about 12:55 a.m. on Saturday (December 19).
The identity of the male victim is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant P. Pham and Officer Brothers reported:
The driver of a black Chevrolet Sonic was traveling eastbound near the above address when the victim (a pedestrian) stepped into the roadway, not in a crosswalk, from the center median and was struck. Houston Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene and pronounced the victim deceased.
The driver of the Chevrolet, who remained at the scene, did not show signs of intoxication, but was transported to an area hospital for medical evaluation.
No charges have been filed at this time, as the investigation is continuing.
