HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant F. Briones and Officer R. Veal reported:
Two Northeast Patrol Division officers were in a marked HPD patrol vehicle traveling westbound at the above address and en route to a code 2 call for service. The driver of a black Cadillac XTS left a stop sign at 7600 Darien Street in order to cross Ley Road and continue traveling southbound on Darien Street. While the Cadillac was in the intersection, the patrol vehicle struck the driver’s side of the Cadillac, pushing it into a private parking lot. Paramedics transported the driver of the Cadillac to Memorial Herman Hospital where he was pronounced deceased a short time later.
Both officers were transported to an area hospital and treated for minor injuries from the crash. The investigation into the cause of the crash is continuing.
