| Houston police are investigating a fatal auto-pedestrian crash at 7100 North Freeway (North Interstate Highway 45) about 10:10 p.m. on Thursday (March 7).
The identity of the female victim, 55, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant J. Benavidez and Senior Police Officer D. Hoang reported:
The driver of a black Chevrolet Tahoe was traveling northbound on the North Freeway when the victim ran across the freeway main lanes and was struck by the Tahoe. The victim died at the scene. The driver of the Tahoe was determined not to be impaired, remained at the scene and was questioned and released. No other injuries were reported.
