Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 7000 Richmond Avenue about 2:30 a.m. today (Jan. 5).
The identity of the male victim is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant J. Uribe and Officer D. Nguyen reported:
The victim was driving a blue BMW 323i and was involved in a minor crash at the intersection of Richmond Avenue at Fountain View Drive. He fled the scene without giving information and traveled westbound on Richmond Avenue until he struck a silver Ford Focus at the above address. The impact caused the BMW to strike a gas line and then a tree. The driver was ejected from the BMW and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The driver and passenger in the Ford were not injured.
The investigation is continuing.
