Houston police are investigating a fatal crash that occurred at 7000 Gulf Freeway (South Interstate Highway 45) about 10:40 p.m. on Monday (May 20).
The male victim, 27, was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant J. Uribe and Officer R. Romo reported:
The victim was driving a green Honda Accord southbound at the above address when he left the roadway and struck a light pole laying on the ground. According to a witness, the driver was observed weaving in and out of the lanes before he drove off the road.
The investigation is continuing.
