Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 700 South State Highway 6 about 4:30 a.m. last Friday (July 3).
The identity of the male victim, 26, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant L. Ross and Officer L. Ho reported:
The driver of a Chevrolet Equinox was traveling northbound near the above address. The victim, a pedestrian, failed to yield the right-of-way, ran out into traffic and was struck by the Equinox Paramedics pronounced the victim deceased. Witnesses reported seeing the victim erratically running in and out of traffic and lying in the street.
The driver remained at the scene and was questioned and released.
The investigation is continuing.
