Houston police are investigating a fatal crash that occurred at 6900 North Shepherd Drive about 9:40 p.m. on Wednesday (November 21).
The male victim, 35, was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensice Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant E. Fendia and Officer O. Bledsoe reported:
The driver of a red Hyundai Santa Fe was on her way to work when she struck a pedestrian crossing the road at the above address. The initial investigation indicates speed was not a factor in this crash. Lighting in the area was poor and the victim was wearing dark-colored clothing.
The driver was examined by a HPD DWI Task Force officer and found not to be intoxicated. There are no charges at this time, as the investigation is continuing.
