Houston police are investigating the fatal crash at 6700 Wilcrest about 4:50 a.m. Sunday (October 11).
The identity of the male victim, 20, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant D. Rodriguez and J. Tran reported:
The victim was driving a red vehicle, possibly a Toyota Matrix, northbound at the above address when he failed to maintain a single lane and struck two trees in the center median. He was pulled out of the vehicle and pronounced deceased at the scene by Houston Fire Department paramedics.
The vehicle subsequently caught fire and was completely burned.
The investigation is continuing.
