| Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 6600 South Sam Houston Parkway West service road about 5:35 p.m. on Monday (May 23).
The identity of the deceased male, 35, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant P. Lee and Officer K. Stout reported:
According to witnesses, the male was driving a brown Kia Soul at a high rate of speed southbound near the above address. He changed lanes but did not realize a Ford F-550 tanker truck was stopped due to traffic and struck the rear of the tanker truck.
The driver of the Kia was pronounced deceased by Houston Fire Department paramedics. The driver of the Ford was not injured.
The investigation is continuing.
