Houston police are investigating a fatal crash that occurred at 6600 Hillcroft Avenue about 9:25 p.m. on Tuesday (April 11).
The identity of the deceased female, 71, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant D. Rose and Officer J. Johnson reported:
The driver of a silver Infinity Q50 was traveling southbound on Hillcroft when he saw a pedestrian (deceased female) in the roadway. The driver attempted to swerve but was unsuccessful and struck her. She was using a walker and attempting to cross the southbound lanes of Hillcroft near Clarewood. She was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital where she was pronounced deceased.
The driver of the Infinity remained at the scene and did not show signs of intoxication. He was questioned and released.
The investigation is continuing.
