Investigation into Fatal Crash at 6500 West 43rd Street

Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 6500 West 43rd Street about 7:10 p.m. last Friday (December 17).

The identity of the male victim, 55, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant F. Briones and Officer J. Leon reported:

The victim, a pedestrian, was crossing moving lanes of traffic at the above address when he was struck by a red Toyota Tundra pickup truck.  The victim was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced deceased.  The Toyota’s driver remained at the scene, showed no signs of intoxication, and was questioned and released.  The preliminary investigation indicates the victim failed to yield the right of way.  

There are no charges in this incident, pending further investigation.
