Investigation into Fatal Crash at 6400 Cullen Boulevard

Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 6400 Cullen Boulevard that occurred about 6:55 p.m. on Sunday (December 12).

The identity of the male victim, 69, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant F. Briones and Officer D. Jones reported:

A witness was traveling southbound near the above address behind a vehicle of unknown make and model.  The driver of the unknown vehicle abruptly veered to the left and the witness did the same.  At that time, the witness saw the victim lying in the roadway.  The first driver failed to stop and render aid.  The witness remained at the scene and called 9-1-1.  Houston Fire Department paramedics pronounced the victim deceased.

It is believed the victim, a pedestrian, was crossing the southbound lanes of Cullen – not in a crosswalk- and possibly with the aid of a walking cane when he was struck by an unknown vehicle.

At this time, there is no known vehicle or suspect description.

Anyone with information in this case is urged to contact the HPD hit and Run Unit at 713-247-4072 or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
