Investigation into Fatal Crash at 6300 West Airport Boulevard

Houston police have learned a woman critically injured in a hit-and-run crash at 6300 West Airport Boulevard about 12:05 a.m. on October 7 has died.  The identity of the victim, 50, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.  HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant P. Pham and Officers F. Serna and F. Flynn reported:  A white Chevrolet Impala was traveling westbound near the above address, ran the red light at the intersection of Bob White Drive and struck the victim who, according to witnesses, appeared to be jaywalking in the roadway.  The driver of the Impala did not stop to provide assistance and fled the scene.  The unknown driver is wanted for failure to stop and render aid, a felony.  Houston Fire Department paramedics transported the victim to Ben Taub General Hospital in critical condition.  Doctors pronounced her deceased today (November 5).  Anyone with information in this case or on the identity of the wanted driver is urged to contact the HPD Hit and Run Unit at 713-247-4072 or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.  VHS/JFC  11-5-21Inc. #135028421-V
