Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 6300 Lyons about 2:55 p.m. on Thursday (April 20).
The identity of the male victim, 68, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant F. Briones and Officer C. Cisneros reported:
The victim, a pedestrian, failed to yield the right of way and attempted to cross the street near a crosswalk when he was struck by a gold Toyota Tundra, whose driver had the green light while traveling east on Lyons. Paramedics transported the victim to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead. The male driver did not show visible signs of intoxication and consented to a blood draw. He was questioned and released with no charges filed at this time.
The investigation is continuing.
