| Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 6200 Westheimer Road about 11:25 p.m. on Tuesday (July 27).
The identity of the male victim, 25, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant D. Griffiths and Officer J. Johnson reported:
The driver of a silver Nissan Maxima was traveling eastbound near the above address when the victim, on a BMX-style bicycle and not wearing a helmet, attempted to cross the street and was struck. Houston Fire Department paramedics pronounced the victim deceased.
The driver of the Nissan, who was determined not to be impaired, remained at the scene and was questioned and released.
The investigation is continuing.
