Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 6100 West Little York Road about 10:10 p.m. on Monday (Dec. 30).
The victim, Jose Vazquez, 36, was pronounced dead at Memorial Hermann Greater Heights Hospital.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant D. Rose and Officer R. Singleton reported:
Mr. Vazquez was driving a silver Dodge Dakota westbound on West Little York Road, which begins to curve northbound at the above address and has a concrete median with a tree dividing the eastbound and westbound lanes in the middle of the curve. Vazquez failed to maintain a single lane, went up on the median and struck the tree. Paramedics transported Vazquez to the hospital where he was pronounced deceased. His wife, 40, was in the passenger seat and sustained minor injuries. She was transported to a hospital in stable condition.
The investigation is continuing.
