Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 6100 Southwest Freeway (South U.S. Highway 59) about 9:20 p.m. on Wednesday (June 12).
The identity of the deceased male, 34, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant D. Griffiths and Officer T. Smith reported:
The male, a pedestrian, ran across the northbound lanes of the freeway and then attempted to cross the southbound lanes at the above address when he was struck by an orange Jeep Wrangler. Paramedics pronounced the male deceased.
The male driver, 47, stopped and remained at the scene. He was determined not to be impaired and was questioned and released.
