Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 600 Holmes Road about 9:30 a.m. on Monday (April 30).
A male victim, 78, was transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital where he was pronounced dead on Tuesday (May 1). His identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant D. Arnold reported:
Southwest Patrol Division officers responded to a two vehicle crash at the intersection of Holmes Road and Buffalo Speedway. The victim was driving a silver Ford Taurus eastbound on Holmes. The male driver of the other vehicle, a black Ford Explorer, was traveling westbound on Holmes and making a left turn when the two vehicles crashed into one another.
Paramedics transported the victim to the hospital where he died the following day. The other driver, 71, was not injured.
A preliminary investigation has not determined which driver is at fault. The investigation is continuing. Anyone with additional information is urged to contact the HPD Vehicular Crimes Division at 713-247-4072.
