| Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 5700 North Shepherd Drive about 8:40 p.m. on Saturday (February 3).
The identity of the deceased male, believed to be 11, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant E. Fendia and Officer C. Sartor reported:
A gray Dodge Charger was traveling southbound near the above address and approached the intersection of Tidwell Road. The victim was crossing North Shepherd westbound and was struck by the Dodge. Houston Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene and pronounced the male deceased.
A preliminary investigation indicated the male was not in the crosswalk at the time of the crash. The driver of the Dodge remained at the scene and was determined not to be impaired. He was questioned and released.
The investigation is continuing.
