| Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 5600 Katy Freeway (West Interstate Highway 10) about 1:25 a.m. on Wednesday (July 5).
The identity of the male victim, 38, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant D. Griffiths and Officer D. Thompson reported:
The male was operating a Ducati Panigale 900 motorcycle westbound near the above address when he failed to control his speed and struck the rear of a blue Dodge Ram pickup truck, also traveling westbound on the freeway. The male was pronounced deceased by responding Houston Fire Department paramedics.
The male driver, 30, and male passenger, 29, of the pickup truck were not injured.
The investigation is continuing.
