Houston police are investigating a fatal crash that occurred at 5500 Gulf Freeway (South Interstate Highway 45) about 11:55 p.m. on Saturday (December 21).
The identity of the male victim is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant D. Rose and Officer D. Nguyen reported:
The victim, a pedestrian, was seen jumping from the HOV lane of the Gulf Freeway into moving lanes of traffic. He was then struck by a black Jeep Patriot and a black Volvo S40. Several other vehicles then struck the victim. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. All drivers stopped, remained at the scene, were questioned and released.
