| Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 5318 Botany Lane about 8:a.m. on Sunday (June 11).
The identity of the deceased male, 89, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant A. Patterson and Officer T. La reported:
The male was in his vehicle, a silver Toyota Camry, and backing out of his driveway at the above address. The vehicle backed across the street and struck a curb. A witness saw the crash and called 9-1-1. Houston Fire Department emergency personnel responded to the scene.
HFD paramedics transported the man to HCA Houston Healthcare Pearland where he was pronounced deceased.
Doctors believe the man suffered a medical issue prior to the crash,.
The investigation is continuing.
