| Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 5200 McCarty Road about 5 a.m. on Tuesday (October 20).
The identity of the male victim, 70, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant K. Harris and Senior Police Officer R. Saenz reported:
The victim, in a wheelchair, crossed the roadway at the above address – not in a cross walk – and was struck by a gold Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck. Paramedics transported the victim to an area hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
The driver of the Chevrolet, who remained at the scene, was determined not to be impaired and was questioned and released.
No charges have been filed at this time, as the investigation is continuing.
