| Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 500 Pease Street about 3:30 a.m. today (May 9).
The identity of the deceased male is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant D. Rose and Officer J. Bibb reported:
A male, believed to be homeless, was walking in one of the lanes of the entrance ramp from Pease Street to the North Freeway (North Interstate Highway 45). A white Ford Explorer was traveling in the northbound lanes of the ramp and struck the pedestrian. Houston Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene and pronounced the male deceased.
The male driver, 31, did not show visible signs of intoxication. He was questioned and released. A male passenger, 24, was not injured in the crash.
The investigation is continuing.
