Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 4700 Gulf Freeway (South Interstate Highway 45) service road about 2:20 a.m. on Sunday (Oct. 20).
The identity of the deceased male, 21, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant D. Rose and Officer N. Solomon reported:
The male was driving a white Toyota Tacoma southbound at the above address when he lost control, veered off the road and onto the grassy divider. The vehicle then struck several trees and a large metal pole. Paramedics pronounced the driver deceased at the scene. A female passenger, 21, was transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The investigation is continuing.
