| Houston police are investigating the fatal crash at 4700 Gulf Freeway (South Interstate Highway 45) about 2:30 a.m. today (January 13).
The identity of the male victim, 27, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant D. Griffiths and Officer D. Hoang reported:
A black Hyundai Crossover was traveling northbound near the above address when the female driver and her boyfriend began to argue inside the vehicle. The driver jerked the wheel, struck the median and the vehicle became disabled. The boyfriend (victim) exited the vehicle and continued to argue with the driver. At some point, the victim was struck by a vehicle of unknown make and model that did not stop. The female driver of the Hyundai remained at the scene and was not injured.
Houston Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene and pronounced the victim deceased.
