Investigation into Fatal Crash at 4000 Yellowstone Boulevard

Houston police are investigating a fatal hit-and-run crash in the 4100 block of Yellowstone Boulevard about 6:20 p.m. on Wednesday (November 30).

The identity of the deceased male, 43, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant P. Lee and Officer N. Duval reported:

A male pedestrian left a family residence in the 6600 block of St. Augustine Street, near the intersection of Yellowstone Boulevard, and walked across Yellowstone on the east side of the street.  The pedestrian was struck by a black Dodge Ram pickup truck traveling westbound on Yellowstone. The driver did not stop to provide medical assistance.

Houston Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene and pronounced the male deceased.

A preliminary investigation indicated the pedestrian failed to yield the right-of-way.
